  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. oil
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. peeled, diced apples
  • 1 c. nuts, chopped
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Directions

    Mix sugar, oil and eggs well. Sift dry ingredients and add to fruit mixture. Fold apples, nuts and flour into eggs. Bake in tube pan for 1 hour at 375°. Leave in pan. Combine 1 stick butter, 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup milk. Cook in microwave 2 1/2 minutes. Pour over cake while still warm. Cool completely and remove from pan.
