- 5 lb. ham
- cider to cover
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. mustard
- 20 whole cloves
Directions

1Cover the ham with cold water and bring slowly to a boil. Throw out the water and replace with the cider to cover ham.

2Bring this to a boil.

3Lower heat, keeping the liquid barely simmering for 20 minutes to the pound of ham.

4Remove from heat and allow to stand in the liquid for 30 minutes.

5Take out ham; skin it and score fat with a sharp knife in a diamond pattern.

6Stud with whole cloves.

7Mix the sugar and mustard; rub well into ham.

8Bake in a preheated oven for an additional 10 minutes to the pound in a 400° oven.

9Carve; serve with sweet potatoes or a salad.
