  • 1 cup flour
  • 2/3 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2/3 cup raw sugar
  • 4 3/4 tablespoons beer
  • 3 3/8 tablespoons vegetable oil

    Preheat the oven to 180C.

    Combine the two types of flour, the baking soda, and the sugar.

    Add the red beer and the oil to the dry ingredients.

    Knead until the dough is smooth and uniform in consistency.

    Shape the dough into a ball, cover it in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes.

    Cut the dough into 20 pieces, shape each piece into a link, bring the two ends of the links together and seal them closed into the shape of a ring.

    Coat each ring in raw sugar.

    Place the rings on a wax paper lined baking sheet and bake for approximately 15 minutes.

    Remove the cookies from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
