- 2 lb. beef stew meat or chuck beef
- 1/4 c. hot chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 6 potatoes, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 3 c. water
- 1 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
Directions

1Brown cubed beef in vegetable oil thoroughly; add red chili powder and flour.

2Stir to a paste.

3Gradually stir in the water. Add onions and garlic.

4Simmer over low flame for 40 minutes. Stir in potatoes and cook 30 more minutes.

5For thinner stew, add more water. Serves 6.
