Ingredients

  • 15 large or 7 lb. pared, seeded cucumbers
  • 1 c. lime (per gal. water)
  • 1 bottle red food coloring (small)
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. powdered alum
  • 4 c. vinegar
  • 4 c. water
  • 10 c. sugar
  • 8 sticks cinnamon
  • 3 to 4 oz. cinnamon candy

    Mix ingredients.

    Bring to a boil (dissolve sugar) and pour over red cucumbers.

    Let stand until next day in the solution (18 to 24 hours).

    Bring to boil and boil for 5 minutes.

    Put in hot, sterilized jars.

    Place in water bath of boiling water for 5 minutes.

    Place in cool, dark place.
