  • 1 gal. cucumbers, peeled, sliced and centers removed (large cucumbers)
  • 1 c. lime
  • 4 1/2 qt. water
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. powdered alum
  • 2 c. vinegar
  • 2 c. water
  • 7 c. sugar
  • 1 c. red hots
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • red cake coloring

Directions

    Heat until red hots are melted.

    Pour over sliced cucumbers and let stand overnight.

    Next morning, heat to boil.

    Put in jars and seal.
