  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cans water
  • 2 onions, chopped fine
  • 3 tsp. salt
  • 2 to 3 tsp. sugar
  • 4 strips bacon, chopped
  • 8 Tbsp. bacon grease
  • 2 c. raw rice

Directions

    Fry bacon. Remove from pan.

    Saute onions in grease.

    Add tomato paste, water, salt, pepper and sugar.

    Cook uncovered slowly for about 10 minutes until mixture measures two cups. Then add it to rice.

    Add the 1/2 cup of additional bacon grease. Cook for 1/2 hour on low with cover.

    Add bacon, crumbled, and stir with fork.
