  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. red cinnamon candies
  • 1 tsp. butter or margarine

Directions

    Combine first 3 ingredients in a heavy 3-quart saucepan; cook over low heat until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly. Continue to cook over medium heat about 10 minutes or until it reaches soft ball stage (234°).

    Add cinnamon candies.

    Continue cooking and stirring constantly until it reaches hard crack stage (300°).

    Remove from heat; stir in butter or margarine.

    Quickly pour into buttered 9 x 13 x 2-inch pan; cool.

    Break into small pieces.

    Makes 1 1/2 pounds.
