- 1 1/2 c. Mazola oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 1/2 c. Swans Down cake flour
- 1 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 oz. red food color
Directions

1Mix sugar and oil.

2Add eggs and beat well.

3Add buttermilk and dry ingredients (flour and cocoa) alternately.

4Stir in soda, salt, vanilla and food coloring; pour into greased and lined (wax paper) pans.

5Makes three 9-inch layers.

6Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

7Use cream cheese frosting.
