  • 1 1/2 c. Wesson oil
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 oz. red food coloring

Directions

    Preheat oven to 325°. Mix oil, sugar and eggs for 2 minutes. Add flour and milk alternately. Add vanilla and coloring. Pour into greased and floured pans. Makes 3 layers. Bake at 325° for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool completely before icing.
