  • 2 c. semi-sweet morsels
  • 1 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. applesauce
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/3 c. chopped nuts
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Melt one cup morsels, sugar, applesauce and margarine in large saucepan over low heat until smooth. Remove pan from heat; add egg whites and stir well.

    Stir in flour, baking soda, salt and vanilla.

    Stir in remaining morsels and nuts.

    Spread mixture into greased 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350° for 16 to 20 minutes.
