Ingredients

  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 3/4 c. hot water
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 5 1/4 c. flour

Directions

    Mix the warm water with yeast and 2 tablespoons of sugar.

    Mix the hot water, 1/2 cup sugar, salt and margarine.

    Let cool, then add egg mixture in yeast.

    Add about 5 1/4 cups of flour.

    Stir to mix in flour.

    Turn out on floured board and knead about 10 minutes.

    Place dough in greased bowl.

    Cover and store in refrigerator until doubled in bulk or overnight.

    Punch down and shape into rolls.

    Let rise and bake at 400° until done.

    Keeps well 4 or 5 days.
