- 1/4 lb. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 c. brown sugar
- 1/3 c. white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Cream the butter and vanilla together, then beat in both sugars and the egg.

2Mix the flour, cream of tartar, salt and spices together; add to fruit mixture, combine well.

3Shape into a roll about 2-inches in diameter and wrap in greased wax paper.

4Chill overnight.

5Store in refrigerator until ready to bake.

6Dough will keep well for at least a week and may even be frozen.
