  • 2 c. 100% bran cereal
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 5 c. all-purpose flour
  • 5 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. All-Bran cereal

Directions

    Combine 100% bran and water in a large bowl and set aside. In another large bowl, cream the sugar, shortening and eggs, using electric mixer.

    Beat in remaining ingredients.

    Stir in bran and water mixture.

    Store in refrigerator in tightly covered container.

    Mixture will keep up to 6 weeks.
