- 1 heaping c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 c. 100% Bran Buds
- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 4 c. 40% Bran Flakes
- 5 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 5 c. sifted flour
Directions

1Pour boiling water over Bran Buds and set aside to cool. Cream Crisco and sugar; add beaten eggs, buttermilk and cooked bran mixture.

2Add Bran Flakes, soda and salt.

3Fold in flour just until all is moistened.

4Place in refrigerator until ready to use. (Stores 6 to 8 weeks in refrigerator.)

5Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes in greased muffin tins.
