Ingredients
- 4 c. sugar
- 4 c. cider vinegar
- 1/2 c. salt
- 1 1/4 tsp. turmeric
- 1 1/4 tsp. celery seed
- 1 1/4 tsp. mustard seed
- 3 large onions, sliced
- cucumbers, sliced thin
Directions

1Wash and sterilize jars.

2Put onions in bottom of jars.

3Fill each jar with cucumbers (pack tightly).

4Combine sugar, cider vinegar, salt, turmeric, celery seed and mustard seed for syrup (mix cold; do not heat).

5Stir syrup well and pour into jars, covering cucumbers.

6Put lids on jars.

7It is not necessary to seal.

8Refrigerate for at least 5 days before using.

9Pickles will remain good for at least 9 months in the refrigerator.
