  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 2 pkg. Yeast in 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 c. Hot water
  • 8 +/- c. All purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. Salt
  • 1 Egg

Directions

    Cream together the sugar and crisco. Add a beaten egg and mix well. Then add the yeast mixture, mix well. Add the remaining 2 cups of hot water and the salt. Mix in the flour until the dough kneads without sticking to the work surface. Let it rise, covered, in a warm place for at least 1 hour before baking. Bake at 350°f. 180°c. gas mark 4 for 20-30 minutes.
