- 1 cake yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 2 c. warm water
- 7 c. flour
Directions

1Stir first 3 ingredients until dissolved and let stand 45 minutes.

2Cream the 1/2 cup sugar and shortening.

3Add salt and egg.

4Beat well.

5Add warm water and yeast mixture.

6Add enough flour to make a soft dough and let rise until double in bulk. Knead smooth.

7Cover and place in refrigerator until wanted. Shape into rolls.

8Let rise until double.

9Bake 15 minutes in 450° oven.
