- 2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 2 cakes yeast
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 2 eggs
- 6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
Directions

1Pour boiling water over sugar and shortening in large bowl. Cool to lukewarm.

2Soften yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water and add to first mixture with eggs and then 3 cups flour.

3Beat well.

4Add remaining flour.

5Do not knead.

6Let rise until double in bulk, about 2 hours.

7Punch down and shape into rolls and let raise again, about 2 hours.

8Bake about 10 minutes at 350°.

9Dough can be mixed and kept in refrigerator overnight and raised 2 or 3 hours in the morning.
