Ingredients

  • 1 cake yeast
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. warm water
  • 5 to 5 1/2 c. flour

Directions

    Combine the first 3 ingredients and let stand for 1 hour.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Mix together.

    Dough will be soft.

    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Roll out on slightly floured board. Cut into rolls.

    Place on well buttered pan.

    Let rise until double in bulk in warm place (about 1 1/2 to 2 hours).

    Bake at 425° for 12 to 15 minutes until brown.

    Makes 3 dozen rolls.
