- 1 cake yeast
- 2 c. milk, scalded and cooled to lukewarm
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 4 Tbsp. melted shortening
- 1 tsp. salt
- 6 c. sifted flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast and sugar in lukewarm milk.

2Add shortening and half the flour.

3Beat until perfectly smooth.

4Add salt and remainder of flour.

5Knead well and place in greased bowl.

6Cover. Let rise until double in bulk.

7Stir down.

8Cover well and place in refrigerator until needed.

9To use, cut off as much dough as desired; roll out on lightly floured board.

10Shape into rolls and place in greased pans.

11Let rise in warm place until double in bulk.

12Bake in hot oven at 425° for about 20 minutes.
