Reisling Fruit Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 cups reisling wine
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • zest of an orange and a lemon
  • 4 plums, pitted and sliced
  • 2 pears, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup grapes-halved
  • 1 cup kumquats-halved or sm. can mandarin oranges
  • Or any fresh fruit of your liking

Directions

    Combine wine, sugar, cinnamon, and zest in a small sauce pan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil and reduce to 1/4 cup liquid when strained, about 25 minutes. Discard strained solids

    Allow this to cool.

    Toss fruit with reisling syrup.

    Cover salad and refrigerate no longer than 2 hours.
