Rice-Coated Beef Balls

  • 2/3 c. short grain rice
  • 1 slightly beaten egg
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c. finely chopped onion

Directions

    Cover rice with water and set aside.

    In mixing bowl combine egg, garlic, salt, ginger and pepper.

    Add ground beef and onion and mix well.

    Shape meat mixture into 24 meatballs.

    Drain rice, roll meatballs in rice until coated.

    Over high heat, bring water for steaming to boiling.

    Put meatballs on greased steamer rack, leaving space between them.

    Place over boiling water, cover 20 minutes.
