  • 1 c. wild rice
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 (10 oz.) cans beef consomme, undiluted
  • 1 soup can water
  • 1 1/2 c. regular long-grain rice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Directions

    Wash wild rice and add to 2 cups salted boiling water.

    Cover and reduce heat.

    Cook until tender, stirring occasionally.

    (This may take as long as 1 1/2 hours; start checking after one hour.)
