Ingredients
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1 1/2 c. rice
- 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed chicken broth
- 1 2/3 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. marjoram
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. sliced celery
- 1 c. diced, peeled tomato
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas
- 1/2 lb. cooked fresh shrimp
Directions

1Saute onion in butter until soft, but not browned.

2Add rice and stir over moderate heat 3 or 4 minutes, until rice grains appear white and opaque.

3Add broth, water, salt, seasonings, celery and tomato.

4Heat to boiling.

5Cover and turn heat to low and cook 15 minutes.

6Add peas and shrimp.

7Cook 5 minutes longer.

8Cook until rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed. Makes 5 servings.
