Ingredients

  • 1 c. rice (Carolina)
  • 1/2 gal. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • raisins (optional), soften in warm water
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Cook first 5 ingredients on stove over a low flame about 1 hour.

    Stir once in awhile.

    Remove from burner. Beat together egg yolks, 1/4 cup sugar, vanilla and raisins.

    Add this to stove mixture.

    Pour into 13 x 9-inch pan.
