- 1 cup rice
- 1 quart water
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 pint milk
- pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions

1Boil rice without stirring until tender.

2Raisins boiled with the rice is an improvement in which case add little more water. Beat eggs, sugar, milk, salt, butter, nutmeg and vanilla.

3Add this mixture to rice.

4Place in moderate oven.

5Bake slowly for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

6Open oven door every half hour and with spoon break the crust and stir up the rice.

7Be sure to bake very slowly.

8It will dry.
