- 1 c. milk
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 5 c. flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
Directions

1Bring milk to a boil.

2Add shortening, sugar and salt.

3Cool to lukewarm.

4Sprinkle yeast over warm water.

5After 5 minutes, stir and combine with cooled milk mixture.

6Add 1/2 of the flour.

7Add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough.

8Mix thoroughly.

9Turn out on lightly floured board.

10Knead about 10 minutes or until smooth and satiny.

11Place dough in a warm greased bowl.

12Brush very lightly with melted fat.

13Let rise about 2 hours or until double in bulk.

14Shape into rolls.

15Place on a greased baking sheet.

16Cover and let rise 1/2 to 3/4 hour or until double. Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.
