- 2/3 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. cake flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. milk
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease and flour 3 (8-inch) round layer pans.

3In large mixer bowl, mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy.

4Beat for 5 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally.

5On low speed, mix in flour, baking powder and salt, alternately with milk.

6Pour into pans.

7Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.

8Cool completely.
