  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • decorative icing (optional)

Directions

    Stir flour, baking powder and salt.

    In a large bowl, beat butter and shortening until butter is soft.

    Add sugar and beat until fluffy.

    Add egg, milk and vanilla.

    Beat well.

    Add flour mixture and beat until well mixed.

    Divide in half.
