- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 c. lukewarm water
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. melted, cooled shortening
- 1 beaten egg
- 6 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Melt the shortening and set aside to cool.

2Mix yeast with the lukewarm water in mixing bowl and stir until completely dissolved. Add salt, sugar, cooled, melted shortening and beaten egg; stir. Add flour and mix.

3Cover with wrap paper and let rise even with top of bowl.

4After rising, roll dough using enough flour to keep from being sticky.

5Cut out rolls with cutter and put in greased bread pan; let rise again.

6Bake at 350° until done.

7Pat butter on top while still warm.
