Ingredients

  • 2 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 6 Tbsp. shortening (I use vegetable oil)
  • 5 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 6 c. sifted flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water.

    Add shortening, sugar and salt. Stir in the flour.

    (I reserve 1/2 cup of the flour to use while making out the rolls.)

    Let the batter rise for 1 1/2 hours in warm area.

    Make out in small ball shapes.

    Place in pan.

    Let rise for 1 1/2 hours.
  8. 8
    Bake at 425°.
