- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 egg
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3 to 3 1/2 c. bread flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Add sugar, shortening, egg, salt and 1/2 of flour.

3Beat at low speed with mixer until smooth. Stir in remaining flour.

4Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease top.

5Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled. Punch dough down.

6Knead briefly.

7Shape.

8Let rise again until doubled.

9Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
