- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 1/4 c. warm water
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 4 1/2 to 5 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- butter
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.

2Let stand 10 minutes. Combine yeast, eggs, 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup warm water, shortening, sugar and salt in large mixing bowl.

3Beat until smooth at medium speed, scraping sides for 2 minutes.

4Stir in rest of flour with wooden spoon until makes soft dough.

5Cover. Let rise until doubled, about 1 hour in a warm place.

6Punch down. Refrigerate overnight.

7(Flavor is better if let set 2 to 3 nights.)

8About 4 hours before baking, roll out.

9First divide dough in half.

10Roll each 1/2 into 1/2-inch thick rectangle. Spread generously with melted butter.

11Roll up jelly roll style. Cut in 12 pieces.

12Put in greased muffin cups.

13Cover.

14Let rise in warm place 3 to 5 hours.

15Bake.
