- 4 breakfast or round steaks
- salt and pepper
- mustard
- 4 slices bacon
- 4 dill pickles
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Beat steaks until thin.

2Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spread mustard on one side (I do not beat meat).

3Lay a slice of bacon on top of the mustard on each steak.

4Place a pickle at one end of the steak and roll it.

5Tie or use pick to keep together. Melt shortening in a roasting pan and brown on all sides of the steak.

6Add water.

7Cover and cook in a preheated oven at 325° for 1 hour.

8Thicken the sauce with flour.

9Season with salt and pepper.
