Ingredients

  • 1 c. walnut halves
  • 1 c. pecan halves
  • 1 1/2 c. candied cherries, cut
  • 1 1/2 c. candied pineapple, cut
  • 1 c. blanched almonds (whole)
  • 1/2 c. whole filberts
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 3/4 c. corn syrup
  • orange food color
  • 1/2 tsp. oil of orange

    Spread nuts, cherries and pineapple in a pan about 1/2-inch thick.

    Blend sugar, water and corn syrup.

    Cook to 300° without stirring.

    Remove from heat.

    Stir in food color to tint along with oil of orange.

    Pour hot syrup back and forth over nut mixture to cover all.
