- 1 (16 oz.) can pitted dark cherries
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. Sauterne or other dry white wine
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 tsp. grated orange rind
Directions

1Drain cherries, reserving liquid.

2Set cherries aside. Combine sugar, cornstarch and reserved cherry liquid in a saucepan, stirring until smooth.

3Add wine, lemon juice and orange rind.

4Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens.

5Stir in cherries.

6Cook until thoroughly heated.

7Serve with poultry or ham.
