Ingredients

  • 2 Packages or possibly 1 cake yeast
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. rum extract
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1 c. scalded lowfat milk
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 5 to 6 c. flour

    Mix yeast, sugar, water till yeast is dissolved.

    Add in rum, egg, lowfat milk, shortening and salt.

    Mix well.

    Add in flour.

    Knead.

    Roll to 1/4 inch thick square.

    Moisten entire square with butter.

    Sprinkle 1/2 c. brown sugar, mixed with 1 tsp.

    cinnamon over dough.

    Sprinkle 1 c. raisins over dough.

    Roll up.

    Slice in 1 inch rolls.

    Place in well greased muffin tins.

    Let rise approximately 2 to 3 hrs.

    Bake at 375 degrees till light tan on top.
