Ingredients

  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 box traditional yellow cake mix
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pie filling mix
  • 1/2 c. Crisco oil
  • 1/2 c. dark rum (preferably Meyer's original dark) or use 1 c. and omit water
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • dash of nutmeg

Directions

    Grease and flour a Bundt pan.

    Place chopped pecans in bottom (if like, chopped cherries).

    Mix all ingredients well (can be slightly lumpy).

    Pour into pan and bake at 350° for 50 minutes. Remove cake from oven, leave in pan and add glaze.
