Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. finely minced onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced fine
  • 3 tbsp. oil or possibly bacon fat
  • 2 pound round steak, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 (4 ounce.) can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 c. (1/2 pt.) commercial lowfat sour cream
  • 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 c. beef bouillon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Directions

    Cook onion and garlic in oil till soft in 10 inch skillet over low heat.

    Add in round steak and brown.

    Add in mushrooms with liquid, lowfat sour cream, tomato sauce, bouillon, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.

    Cover and cook over low heat for about two hrs.

    Mix together flour and water, and stir into meat gravy to thicken.

    Serve with warm cooked noodles or possibly mashed potatoes.
