Ingredients

  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/3 c. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 1/3 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 1/3 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 large can cherry pie filling

Directions

    Mix together first 6 ingredients.

    Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix and divide dough in half.

    Press 1/2 of the dough into a 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Spread cherry pie filling on top.

    Press other half of dough onto wax paper the size of pan, then turn onto pie filling in pan.

    Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes, until brown. While hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
