Name: Russian Tea Cake
Ingredients: 4 c. flour; 1 1/3 c. sugar; 1 1/3 c. butter or margarine, melted; 1/8 tsp. salt; 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar; 1 1/3 tsp. baking soda; 2 eggs; 1/4 c. milk; 1 1/3 tsp. vanilla; 1 large can cherry pie filling

4 c. flour
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. butter or margarine, melted
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/3 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1/4 c. milk
1 1/3 tsp. vanilla
1 large can cherry pie filling

Mix together first 6 ingredients.

Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix and divide dough in half.

Press 1/2 of the dough into a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Spread cherry pie filling on top.

Press other half of dough onto wax paper the size of pan, then turn onto pie filling in pan.

Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes, until brown. While hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
