Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp. five spice powder
- 2 cups onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 tsp. turmeric
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 cups chard, slivered
Directions

1Heat oil in pan over medium low heat.

2Add five spice powder; fry for a few seconds.

3Add onion; fry until it is translucent, 2 or 3 minutes.

4Stir constantly.

5Add the turmeric and salt; stir briefly.

6Add the chard.

7Reduce heat to very low, cover and cook just until the chard is green and limp.

8Do not cook so much that it loses its colour.

9Cook for no more than 5 or 10 minutes.

10Remove from heat and serve at once.

11This dish goes well with rice and mung beans.
