Ingredients
- 1 c. milk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. minced onion
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. very warm water
- 4 1/2 c. plain flour, sifted
- 2 tsp. sage
Directions

1Scald milk with sugar, salt, onion and margarine in pan.

2Cool to lukewarm.

3Sprinkle yeast into water in a large bowl.

4Stir until dissolved, then stir in cooled milk mixture.

5Stir in flour and sage until well blended.

6Beat vigorously, scraping down side of bowl, about 100 strokes.

7(Dough will be sticky.)

8Cover with clean towel; let rise in warm place for 1 hour or until doubled. Stir dough down; spoon into greased 10-cup tube pan.

9Bake at 375° for 1 hour.

10Remove from pan and cool.
