Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. salad oil
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- water
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 5 medium onions, sliced
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Saute onions in oil for 2 minutes.

2Add soy sauce, sugar and 1 1/2 cups water; heat to boiling.

3Simmer, uncovered 15 minutes or until onions are tender.

4Mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup water. Gradually stir into onion mixture.

5Cook, stirring constantly, until sauce is thickened.

6Keep warm.

7Mix ground beef and salt and pepper.

8Shape into four 1-inch thick patties.

9Place patties on rack in broiling pan; broil 4 minutes on each side or until done.

10Place patties in casserole dish and spoon onion mixture on top and keep warm in oven until ready to serve.
