Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground round
  • 1 c. finely chopped onion (I use 1/4 c. seeing my family isn't fond of onions)
  • 1/2 c. cooked long grain rice, cooked without salt or fat
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 3/4 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 (13 3/4 oz.) cans no salt added beef broth
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch

Directions

    Combine the first 5 ingredients in a bowl; stir well.

    Divide into 6 equal portions, shaping each into a 1-inch thick patty. Coat an electric skillet with vegetable cooking spray; heat to 320°.

    Add patties and cook 5 minutes on each side.

    Drain on paper towels; set aside and keep warm.

    (I put them in the oven on warm.)
