- 1 c. milk, scalded
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 eggs, well beaten
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. butter
- 1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
Directions

1Add sugar, salt and butter to milk.

2Cook to lukewarm.

3Add yeast, eggs and flour.

4Beat well and cover.

5Let rise in warm place until double (about 2 1/2 hours).

6Stir down and pour into well-greased pan or baking dish.

7Cover and let rise again until double (about 1 1/2 hours).

8Bake at 375°

9to 400°

10for about 45 minutes until golden brown.

11Serve hot with plenty of butter.
