  • 1 (7 1/2 oz.) can red salmon, drained
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 2/3 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. plain cornmeal
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/3 c. buttermilk
  • salad oil

Directions

    Combine all ingredients, except oil.

    Drop batter by tablespoon into deep oil heated to 370°.
