- 2 c. coarsely chopped, seeded tomatoes (about 1 1/4 lb.)
- 2 green onions with tops, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 to 2 tsp. minced, seeded jalapeno or Serrano chili peppers
- 1 Tbsp. olive or vegetable oil
- 2 to 3 tsp. lime juice
- 8 to 10 sprigs fresh cilantro, minced
- 1/2 tsp. salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp. sugar to taste
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
Directions

1Combine tomatoes, green onions, garlic, pepper, oil and lime juice in a medium bowl.

2Stir in cilantro, if desired.

3Season with salt, sugar and pepper.

4Adjust seasonings to taste, adding lime juice or chili pepper, if desired.
