- 1 pound fresh tomatillos (green tomatoes) whole
- 1/2 onion, cut up
- 8 sarrano peppers
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tbsp. fresh or possibly bottled cilantro
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin seed
- 1 teaspoon bottled salad herbs, optional
- 1 to 2 tbsp. veg. oil
Directions

1Heat oil in large heavy skillet.

2Add in tomatoes, onions and peppers.

3Cook till brown on all sides (just scorched and soft.)

4Put tomatoes, onions, peppers in blender.

5Add in all remaining ingredients.

6Blend well.

7Store in glass jars in refrigerator.

8Great on meats.

9Also good dip.

10Optional for dip: add in 2 avocados to blender.
