- 1 (28 oz.) or 2 (15 oz.) cans diced tomatoes or the equivalent of fresh grown, canned tomatoes
- 2 to 3 jalapenos
- 1/2 to 3/4 c. white or yellow onion
- 2 to 3 cloves garlic
- 1 Tbsp. oregano
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. sugar (optional)
Directions

1Slice peppers long ways and place into a saucepan. Just cover with water. Be sure to use a lid because the fumes of the peppers boiling may choke you. Boil until peppers are tender, about 4 to 5 minutes.
